VJ Instruments Fear Conditioning Apparatus is fully computerized system designed to study contextual fear conditioning in Rats and Mice. This apparatus has been successfully used in studies of the psychophysiology including post traumatic stress disorder in fear memory and in particular it is used to assess fear memory and anxiety. By utilizing auditory cues, light cues and with the help of Grid Shock Mouse or Rat can be forced into freezing defensive posture. VJ Instruments software provides the user with the ability to control the cue type, cue duration and shock intensity and time. The camera fitted on the top of the box records the start and end of freezing episodes. Freeze monitor software precisely reports total number of freezing episodes and total time freezing in each session. Contextual fear conditioning can be studied by using different vertical and horizontal strip textures on the clear wall of fear conditioning apparatus.
The VJ Instruments Fear Monitoring System is manufactured using high end non-reflective material and is available for rat or mouse. Separate grids for rats and mice are available. It consists of easily removable tray.
The Fear Monitoring System comes in as a part of the whole package that includes a Licensed Fear Monitoring System video tracking software, camera with accessories like cables fixing, IR lights, Light fixtures and a PC.
